Baseball Training Workouts

Today we are going to be talking about baseball training workouts for the youth player.  Boys really enjoy playing “racketball baseball” this is a great infield practice drill which is done to improve fielding mechanics.  It’s done with the small 9.5 practice glove.  The coach hits pop-ups and grounders with a tennis racket and ball, he lines the kids up hits the tennis ball as fast as he can continuously, allowing the player to field as many as he can in a short period of time.  This allows the player to focus on the ball as well as develop speed and quickness on the field.  It also develops footwork which is another import asset for playing the infield.  The concept of the smaller gloves allows the player an easy transition for when he uses his playing glove in games.  You will see improvement when practicing baseball training workouts with you youth players and they’ll have fun doing it too!!!
